Applications for the British Horseracing Graduate Development Programme are now open. The programme, which is celebrating its 28th year, provides an invaluable source of talent to the sport and its supporting industry.
The course commences in July with a free two-week residential course at the British Racing School. During this time, delegates will hear talks from leading figures within the racing industry, featuring insights into the structure and workings of the sport. The two weeks also include a number of field trips to locations, which have previously included the Newmarket Equine Hospital, Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud and Banstead Manor Stud.
Graduates then begin an eight-week paid work placement with one of the wide variety of sponsors within the industry. In 2017, placement opportunities included roles at the BHA, the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association, Racing Post, Great British Racing (GBR) and Weatherbys, as well as a variety of posts at Jockey Club Racecourses and Arena Racing Company.
Applications can be made through the careersinracing website https://www.careersinracing.com/course/graduate-programme/ and will be accepted until 28th February 2018.
