The Thoroughbred Club and the BHA have joined together to provide an opportunity for one BHA graduate to further their knowledge of the breeding industry by taking up two linked placements at Tweenhills Farm & Stud in Gloucestershire (www.tweenhills.com) and Newsells Park Stud (www.newsells-park.com) in Hertfordshire, to cover the period before, during and after Tattersalls October yearling sales this year.
Both placements will provide you with a chance to gain a better understanding of the breeding industry, which will be invaluable where ever you work in the Thoroughbred racing and breeding industry. At Tweenhills Farm and Stud, you will spend time assisting the Stud Manager and learning how a busy stud farm operates in the run-up to the sales season. Moving on to Newsells Park Stud, you will attend Tattersalls October Yearling Sales and work with the sales team there. You will then spend two weeks on the stud and assist in the office as preparations get under way for the 2018 breeding season.
